The YMCA of Snohomish County is hosting the annual Snohomish County Prayer Breakfast.

The breakfast will be held from 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Good Friday, April 3, at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center in Everett.

The Prayer Breakfast is a community event designed to bring the community together in a nondenominational setting to give thanks and seek guidance for the year. This year’s guest speaker is Megan Alexander.

National news correspondent, host, emcee, speaker and actress, Alexander can be seen every evening as a correspondent on the longest-running, top rated syndicated national news magazine television show “Inside Edition.” She joined the show in fall of 2007.

Whether covering the last four Super Bowls, swimming with wild animals, tackling a breaking political story, or chatting with celebrities, she has a knack for putting people at ease while entertaining and informing viewers.

Alexander was recently selected to be a Special Correspondent for CBS Newspath and joins the team at Thursday Night Football, covering the game and related stories for all CBS affiliates around the world.

She hosts the nationally televised Inspirational Country Music Awards each year from Nashville, Tenn. She emcees countless charity events around the country for organizations like Girls Quest, Girls Inc., and HOBY, a youth leadership organization.

Alexander was born and raised in Seattle and attended King’s High School. She graduated from Westmont College with a degree in political science.

She began her television career as a reporter for Tennessee Mornings on Fox 17 where she was a traffic and weather radio reporter for MetroNetworks.

While in Nashville, she hosted a teen show for LifeWay Christian Resources entitled “Fuel.” She then went on to be a reporter/anchor for KENS5, the CBS station in San Antonio, Texas, and co-hosted the morning show “Great Day San Antonio.”

She and her husband are the proud parents of a son named Chace and a dog named Indiana. She splits her time between New York City and Nashville.
