Celebration of lights at Frances Anderson Center

In the spirit of giving, you can light a light this holiday season for someone you love, something you wish for, or in remembrance of a loved one.

Each light you light is a donation to the city of Edmonds’ Youth Scholarship Fund so kids who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity can participate in Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services programs.

Every year, a living fir tree is strung with lights and placed at the entrance of the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds.

Donate $5 per light, and your donation will be posted on the main floor bulletin board of the center. The living fir tree will be lighted the week of Thanksgiving and stay up through Jan. 2.

Each year the City of Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department receives numerous requests for assistance.

To light a light, call 425-771-0268 to donate over the phone or to request a form. Forms can be downloaded at www.Edmondswa.gov. New this year, you can donate online at www.RecZone.org – search Celebration of Lights and add it to your cart.

Note that there is a $10 minimum on credit card purchases.
