Volunteer open house at Edmonds Senior Center Thrift Store

The Edmonds Senior Center Thrift Store is looking for volunteers to help in its temporary store in Westgate, and is holding a volunteer open house 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.

The store’s new manager is B.J. Whitman.

Opportunities include sorting donations, pricing, merchandising, cashiering, and being a personal shopper for customers. Training will be provided. All proceeds go to programs for the Edmonds Senior Center.

The Edmonds Thrift Store is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Two shifts are available, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

The store is located at the Westgate Shopping Plaza at 22820 100th Ave. W.

The new Edmonds Senior Center will be located in the Edmonds Waterfront Center currently under construction, with completion anticipated in late 2020. It will be located south of the ferry on the Edmonds waterfront at 220 Railroad Avenue.

The Waterfront Center will serve the senior community as well as people of all ages in Edmonds.
