Mike McMurray, who is developing Main Street Commons at Main Street and Sixth Avenue South in Edmonds, has released a new artist sketch of what he envisions for the corner.

The entrance is now on Main Street, with more windows and lighter color (French cream and black frame windows), based on feedback and recommendation from various people in the community. The Architecture Board of Edmonds has been a very big help improving the design.”

The permits have been submitted to the Planning Department, and McMurray said he continues to work with the City on a few items.

“I apologize to the Edmonds community, as I really thought we would be further along, but it took five months in some cases for various consultants to even look at the permit set.

“The reality is the various early plans were good, but not good enough for Edmonds. So I feel the delay and the additional input has improved the project tremendously.”

McMurray said he is also close to announcing a tenant at the renovated space at 519 Main St.

“I feel pretty good about these folks, and they plan on doing a really cool restaurant that will complement the current neighborhood offerings and blend with the architecture of the building.”
