Two King's teams named Fall Academic State Champions

Two of King’s teams were named Fall Team Academic State Champions by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association this week.

The football team, coached by Jim Shapiro, earned 1A honors with a 3.403 GPA.

The boys cross country team, coached by Rod Wilcox, also earned recognition with its 3.849 GPA.

The Scholastic Awards Program recognizes the team with the highest grade point average among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification.

The Academic State Champions for fall include the following sports: cross country, football, 1B/2B boys soccer, girls soccer, girls swimming and diving and volleyball.

The winning teams will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming WIAA, Dairy Farmers of Washington, Les Schwab Tires State Championships. A complete list of Academic State Champions may be found HERE.
