Edmonds resident Robert Mazelow sent us this inspiring picture.

He explains: “I took my 92-year-old mother-in law, Elizabeth Sears, to the Edmonds July 4 parade, as she was a participant with the Save the Marsh group. She was surrounded by the Meadowdale cheerleaders.

"She opened Meadowdale in 1963, and was a biology teacher until 1988. She was the teacher of the year in Washington state in 1978. I asked the cheerleaders to take a picture, and it's a classic.”

We agree.
