Two men are in custody in a robbery and kidnapping investigation that unfolded in Edmonds Thursday, Jan. 25.

Edmonds Police Sgt. Josh McClure said that a 31-year-old man called police at 1:45 a.m. early Thursday saying he’d been robbed at gunpoint and his girlfriend had been kidnapped at America’s Best Value Inn, in the 22100 block of Highway 99.

Two males were booked into the Snohomish County Jail for robbery, assault and kidnapping after a man called Edmonds Police early Thursday morning reporting he had been robbed at gunpoint and his girlfriend had been kidnapped.

Officers located the man and got him medical attention at Swedish Edmonds for a broken finger and facial injuries suffered in the attack.

He gave officers information that led officers to an address in Everett, where a vehicle thought to be involved in the incident was located and local police worked with surrounding law-enforcement agencies.

“Everett Police officers assisted Edmonds officers with surveillance of the suspect residence in hopes of seeing the female and ensuring her safety,” McClure said.

“It was also known that one of the suspects had been actively evading law enforcement in the last few weeks and was wanted by the Department of Corrections and Marysville Police.

That suspect was known to be armed and dangerous before this investigation unfolded, McClure said.

Authorities activated the North Sound Metro SWAT team and Edmonds detectives obtained a search warrant for the Everett residence. Around 10:45 a.m., the SWAT team approached it, and a 43-year-old suspect emerged and was taken into custody without incident.

The other suspect and the female were not located at that time, McClure said.

As the investigation continued, officers located the others suspect, 46, and the 26-year-old woman at an apartment complex south of Everett around 1:30 p.m. The suspect also was taken into custody without incident.

The North Sound Metro SWAT Team includes members from the police departments of:

Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Mill Creek, Bothell, Monroe, Redmond, Kirkland and Lake Forest Park.

This investigation is still in its early stages and will be ongoing. Those with information on the case can call the Edmonds PD tip line at 425-771-0212 or go to www.epdtips.edmondswa.gov.
