Riemi Pieters, a senior at Edmonds-Woodway High School and Tersa Almaw, a senior at Lynnwood High School, will be sworn in at a future meeting.

Board President Diana White had the honor of providing the oath of office to three of the five new student advisers for the 2014-15 school year.

Student advisers contribute, asking questions and providing input to the topics and reports presented, but are not voting members of the Edmonds School Board.

In their first meeting, however, they showed the value of their participation by offering a student perspective on some key issues in the district, which was welcomed by the school board members.
