Still time to register for this Saturday’s Run-A-Muk races | Sports brief

Registration is still being accepted for the annual Run-A-Muk 5k and 10k races set for Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Rose Hill Community Center in Mukilteo.

Go to to register by midnight Thursday, Aug. 24. Fees range from $27.50 to $48.  All proceeds will benefit the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival.

Packet pickup will be from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Quality Fitness, 8221 44th Ave. W., Suite E Sterling Business Park, Building A, in Mukilteo.

On the day of the race registration, packet pickup and gear check will start at 6:30 a.m. New this year is music starting at 7 a.m. The prerace warm up will be at 7:30 a.m. with a mandatory pre-race announcement at 7:45 a.m.

The race starts at 8 a.m. with awards scheduled for 9 a.m. Porta-potties will be located at the start/finish area along with a couple different locations on course.

The 5k route has a total ascent of 170.25 feet and has a maximum elevation of 192.55 feet. The 10k route has a total ascent of 326.31 feet and has a maximum elevation of 220.54 feet.

All participants, who registered prior to Aug. 17, will receive a Run-A-Muk race shirt. There will be plenty of parking at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park and street parking around Rose Hill Community Center. Participants should come prepared to pay to park.
