Silver Fox Players forming at Edmonds Senior Center

May 18, 2018

The Edmonds Senior Center is looking for people to become the driving force behind a new group, The Silver Fox Players, a performing troupe specializing in entertaining other seniors and those who intend to become seniors sometime in the near or distant future.

The group is led by Kent Johnson of Lynnwood, who has an extensive background in theater production.

It will present readers theater performances for church groups, senior centers, senior living communities and other groups that might like to host an evening of “fun and sometimes provocative” theater.

The group will offer short plays, old-time radio programs, monologues, poetry, comedy routines, and classic material.

“The opportunities for participation are as varied as they are plentiful,” Johnson said. “We will need actors, writers, community outreach specialists, audio and sound effect technicians, and more. If you are an experienced actor, or not, or have one of the mentioned skill sets, maybe you would like to try your hand as a Silver Fox Player.”

Johnson added that performers will not have to memorize anything.

The group will begin meeting regularly at 1 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Edmonds Senior Center.

There is a cost of $5 per month to help offset the cost of materials and licensing fees. Contact Michelle Burke for more information at 425-954-2520, or email
