Sandy Day: 1940-2018

Oct 24, 2018

Sandy was born to Jim and Helen Blagg on July 30, 1940, in The Dalles, and grew up in Pendleton, OR.  She met and married Charles Day, while becoming an X-ray technician in Seattle.  Sandy passed in peace at home in the presence of her husband, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2018.

Sandy was a very loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and sister. She had a hard time telling anybody “no” who asked her for help. She loved her (17 years) in Bible Study Fellowship. Sandy worked at Harborview Hospital and Kruger Clinic Orthopedic as an X-ray technician for many years, up to her retirement.

She was fond of gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and furry friends.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles, and three married sons: Steve (Alison), Tim (Krista) and Dan (Dawn); plus six grandchildren, Kjirsti Leestma (Daniel), Jahmie Montgomery (Lucus), Hunter, Carter, Christopher and Emma Day.

She is also survived by her Aunt Dorothy, sister-in-law Marilyn Blagg, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Cascade In-Home Care and the two wonderful caregivers, Joleen and Rehana. Also, a special thanks to Cedar Creek Memory Care of Edmonds, who through Nan Fullmer provided excellent support and advice.

Sandy will truly be missed by all.

A celebration of her life will be held at Northsound Center at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 201 4th Ave. South, Edmonds. Reception will follow at the Edmonds Library Plaza room, 650 Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Sandy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Bible Study Fellowship, or the charity of your choice.
