Renewed faith at Trader Joe’s | Letter

May 24, 2017

My wallet was stolen out of my purse – on my shoulder – at the Lynnwood Trader Joe's today (May 15).

By the time I realized what had happened, the thieves had used my credit cards to "purchase" – that's another story – over $7,000 worth of merchandise at the Lynnwood Target store in a matter of 10-15 minutes.

It's a sad story that plays out many times a day everywhere in this country.

The kindness part followed, with Trader Joe's offering to deliver my groceries – a full cart – to my home, and at no charge to me. I almost cried at this gesture. I decline their offer to give me the food, $169 worth, but so appreciated the way I was treated by them.

The groceries just arrived, along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers to cheer me up. I will never forget their good deed, with renewed faith that kindness trumps hate.
