Parents’ workshop on teen drug use set

A Parent’s Role in Prevention: Teen Marijuana, Alcohol & Other Drug Use, is a free workshop for parents, staff, students and community.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Shoreline Center (Park in North Parking Lot), 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline.

Speaker Dr. Yolanda Evans, Adolescent Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital, will provide parents with information about healthy adolescent development, how marijuana and other drugs affect brain development, and what parents can do to prevent drug use among their children.

Audience question and answer peiod follows presentation. Community agencies (private and non-profit) will have tables at this event to provide further information about area resources.
