Pamela Jo Swanson (Evans): 1954-2018

Dec 19, 2018

Pam was born in Tacoma on January 12, 1954 to Joe and Vera Evans; and died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 3, 2018 at Evergreen Hospice Care Facility after a courageous 12-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

She graduated from West Valley High School in 1972 and Eastern Washington University in 1975 with a degree in Early Childhood Education; and at the age 50 she received a Master's Degree in Technology in Education.

She taught in both the West Valley School District in Spokane from 1976 to 1989 and the Mukilteo School District beginning in 1990 until she retired in 2014.

Most important to Pam were her family and friends. She married John Swanson in 1975 and was able to celebrate their 43rd anniversary days before she passed. She was also survived by her daughters, Erin Greene (Justin) and their sons Jackson and Tate Greene, and Emily Swanson and her son Drake Thetford; as well as her brother Scott Evans and his daughters, Danelle (Restrepo), Nicole, and Jordan; and her sister Paula Jeffries and children Joe, Jared and Jaime (Groh).

Her love for bringing all family together led her to host countless family gatherings at her cabin in Mt. Baker as well as her home in Edmonds. She started and maintained many family traditions that her family will always treasure and continue to honor for years to come.

Pam enjoyed traveling, skiing, hiking, sewing, golfing, music, and was always up to the challenge of successfully tackling any project she put her mind to. But most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

Her life will be celebrated on January 5, 2019 at 4 p.m. at the Nile Shriners Golf and Country Club in the Ballroom. Through her spirit, Pam will continue to inspire all those she knew and loved, for many years to come. She was an amazing person who loved life and will be truly missed by many.
