Ottilia (Trudy) Christine Humann: 1939-2018

Aug 30, 2018

Ottilia Christine Humann (Trudy) passed away on August 22, 2018. She was the perfect example of resilience and strength as she battled cancer since 2015.

Trudy was born in Ashley, ND, on October 22, 1939. Trudy met the love of her life, Gilbert Humann, in 1954, and they married three short years later on September 1, 1957 while Gilbert was serving in the army.

They were eventually stationed in Ft. Knox, KY where son Kelly was born in 1958. After fulfilling army duty, they settled in Aberdeen, SD, where they lived for 6 years and welcomed their second son Jeffery in 1961.

Gilbert and Trudy moved to Seattle in 1964.

Trudy had a successful career at Pacific NW Bell, where she worked for 20 years as a computer programmer. In her retirement years she enjoyed camping and was always excited to bring her grandchildren along.

Gil and Trudy lived in Pasco, WA, for 10 years, where they traveled with their Model A Club and were involved with the Columbia Basin Reiner's. They also enjoyed many years as Snowbirds in Yuma, AZ. Trudy was very creative, and found great pleasure in embroidering, making ceramics and taking cooking classes.

Trudy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Gilbert; sons Kelly (Shayne) and Jeff (Terry); grandchildren Jennifer (Glenn), Kyle (Kelly), Brittany (Brent), Bailey (Kevin); and two great grandchildren, Greysha and Oliver.

She is also survived by her brother Paul Weber and sister Pauline Hauck, and many close extended family members in the Weber and Hauck family, along with many dear friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance at UW Medicine's Northwest Hospital for their extraordinary care, especially Doctor Edmond Marzbani.

A service will be held 1:15 p.m. Friday, August 31, at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent WA 98042.

A celebration of Trudy's life will be held at the Edmonds Masonic Lodge, located at 515 Dayton Street in Edmonds, at noon on Saturday, September 1.
