Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives continue to analyze information collected after police swarmed the Picnic Point area looking for a man with a knife who reportedly sexually assaulted a woman.

Spokeswoman Courtney O’Keefe said items are at a lab and under review, and the suspect is at large.

Just before 9 a.m. Oct. 17, the Sheriff’s Department had its K-9 unit in the area, joining K-9 units from the Lynnwood and Seattle police assisting in the search for the suspect.

A helicopter, drone, marine unit and search-and-rescue trackers also were on scene.

The victim was an adult woman walking on a trail at Meadowdale Beach Park in unincorporated Snohomish County, north of Edmonds.

O’Keefe described the suspect as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, wearing a baseball cap, a dark, hooded sweatshirt and a scarf around his neck.

There also was a reported sexual assault at Everett Community College on Monday, Oct. 15.

Campus security released a statement saying a female student reported that Monday evening, a man she did not know spoke with her inside a campus café and twice grabbed her buttocks.

She said she later saw the same man driving a gray van a few hours later just off campus. He offered her a ride home, which she accepted. While in the van, she reported that the suspect attempted to rape her.

The man in that incident was described as African-American, just under 6 feet, clean-shaven and with short hair.

If you have any information on either incident, call 911.
