Registration for fall quarter at the Creative Retirement Institute at Edmonds Community College begins Thursday, Aug. 15. CRI is for adults interested in lifelong learning.

“This is the place to meet other energetic, creative people with common interests,” said Judy Kimball, a CRI member.

CRI was established in 1993 by educators and is run by a volunteer staff with the cooperation and support of the Continuing Education Division of Edmonds Community College. Instructors proficient in their respective fields of study teach the classes.

The class schedules are designed for retirees, but also are open to all adults.

Each fall, winter, and spring terms, over 30 classes are offered in a variety of subjects, such as literature, music and the arts; science and technology; history and politics; finance and economics; and philosophy and religion.

All classes, with various fees, are held weekdays. They are one to four weeks, and about two hours a week.

There are no tests, no homework, and no grades.
