New teen rowing program launched | Sports briefs

6 Movements Fitness Studio offering a new teen fitness/rowing program starting on July 10.

The program will involve indoor rowing, bodyweight exercise and weekly races, using a virtual race platform that displays the rowers boat position on screens. 6 Movements RowFIT classes are designed to provide general fitness and athletic performance training.

Classes are led by certified rowing instructors with extensive experience teaching physical education and rowing to teens.

RowFIT TEEN classes are open to teens entering grades 8-12 in 2018.  Beginners are welcome. Four two-week series are offered, each limited to eight participants.  Early registration is advised.

Each series will include rowing orientation, workouts involving on and off rower exercise, and rowing races.  Participants will wear heart rate monitors and can view their own heart rates onscreen during training sessions. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday 1- 2:30 p.m. For more information see:
