There’s a new tenant at 22811 100th Ave. W in Edmonds, across the street from QFC, which was the longtime home of a dance studio.

It’s The Needlepointer, which bills itself as the state’s only full-service needlepoint shop. It moved from its home in Everett, where it was located for 24 years. The focus of the store is on hand-painted needlepoint canvases, an array of different fibers, classes, accessories and finishing services.

The expansion into the new space has also allowed The Needlepointer to now carry needlepoint styled furniture and a home décor gift department.

According to owner Jill Likes, who along with husband Dan Gourley purchased the building last year, the building has been remodeled to include a large open area to display canvases and new gift-product lines, as well as a seating area with a fireplace and hostess bar.

The classroom will be used by local and national instructors to teach beginners as well as experienced stitchers.

The Needlepointer is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The stores will also be open the third Tuesday every month through 8 p.m. for Open Stitch Night.
