Methodist Church hosts Cascade musicians

Musicians from the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Michael Miropolsky, will perform in a series of small instrumental ensembles at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St.

Ticket prices for the ensemble concert are $15 for adults, $10 for students with an ID, and $5 for youngsters 12 and younger.

The ensemble performances will include “Kegelstatt Trio” for clarinet, viola and piano, in E-flat major, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Gabriel Fauré’s “Romance without Words” and “Siciliene,” for harp and piano; and Heitor Villalobos’s “Assobio a Jato (the Jet Whistle)” for flute and cello.

Other performances to be featured at the concert will be Bill Smith’s Selections from “Around the Blues” for two bass clarinets; composer Edvard Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” for strings; and the Cascade Percussion Ensemble.
