Two Meadowdale High School students did well recently at the International Thespian Competition and Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska.

It was a first-time honor for Snohomish County

Peter Davies and Katie Dreessen had previously placed in the top 10 percent in the competition for western Washington, and then first place in the statewide competition and festival held at Western Washington University in Bellingham.

In Nebraska, they performed "Beautiful" from the musical “Ordinary Days.”

They medaled and received a Triple Superior, which means that each of the three judges placed them at the top, and were two points away from showcasing, which means performing for the entire festival as the best of the best.

Davies graduated with multiple honors and scholarships and will be attending Chapman University in Orange, California, to major in English and theater directing.

Dreessen will be a senior and has been seen on multiple stages in Snohomish County and Seattle.
