Kristian Helleren, a member of Boy Scout Troop 300 that meets at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Edmonds, has earned his Eagle Scout Award.

Helleran’s service project was to build a secured gravel parking area for the church vehicles at Calvary Chapel, Edmonds, in an attempt to curtail vandalism.

The project required approval from both local and national Boy Scout councils and included raising funds from local stores for supplies. Building the secured area consisted of leveling the land, pouring concrete for poles and building the fence and gate.

“His troop leaders are exceptional and have been so devoted to developing young men with strong leadership qualities that give back to the community,” said Roxanne Hellerman, Kristian’s mother.

Kristian is a senior at Meadowdale High School, has been in Running Start for two years and is currently considering a career in the area of fire science.
