Meadowdale’s season came to an end on a cold night in Stanwood.

The Spartans knocked off the Mavericks 30-9 in a Wesco 3A pig-tail football game Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Stanwood High School.

Meadowdale (4-6) took an early 7-0 lead when Will Moloney returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown. But that would be the last points the Mavericks scored until a safety in the fourth quarter.

The Mavericks also lost its final regular season game 41-21 to non-conference opponent Olympic on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Edmonds Stadium. Stanwood advances to a district playoff game against Eastside Catholic on Saturday, Nov. 4.
