Mavericks, Warriors finish strong at 3A meet | Boys swimming

Meadowdale’s Sean Nguyenle advanced to the consolation finals in two individual events at the 3A state swimming championships.

Nguyenle placed 10th in the 100-yard butterfly and finished 13th in the 200 individual medley Saturday, Feb. 17, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Teammate Max Khaperman also advanced to the consolation finals of the 100 freestyle, where he took 16th. Khaperman also finished 18th in the 50 freestyle.

All three of Edmonds-Woodway’s relays made it to the consolation finals. The 200 freestyle relay team of Anton Teplouhov, Benjamin Palmer, Niko Inadomi and Lukas Mraz placed 12th. The 200 medley relay team of Jeff Plum, Daniel Eno, Ethan Wang and Palmer finished 14th and the 400 freestyle relay team of Wang, Eno, Inadomi and Logan Schnitzius finished 15th.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Anthony Edwards placed 21st in the 500 freestyle and 24th in the 200 freestyle. Schnitzius finished 20th in the 500 freestyle. Eno placed 16th and Wang was 21st in the 100 breaststroke. Plum finished 20th in the 100 backstroke.
