Mavericks, Warriors advance to district tournaments | Basketball

All four of the Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale basketball teams advanced to the postseason.

The Edmonds-Woodway girls finished second in the Wesco 3A with an 11-1 league record (18-2 overall). The lone loss was to league champion Snohomish. The Warriors are scheduled to host an opponent to be determined in a first round game at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The Meadowdale girls, who finished eighth with a 5-7 league record (8-12 overall), was scheduled to play Wesco 3A champion Snohomish at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9, at Snohomish High School. The Mavericks lost 38-26 in early January.

The Edmonds-Woodway boys finished sixth in the league with a 7-5 mark (12-8 overall) and will be taking on Stanwood (10-2, 14-6) at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Stanwood High School. The Spartans beat the Warriors 87-57 in early January.

The Meadowdale boys, who ended up seventh in league with a 6-6 mark (10-10 overall), play district rival Lynnwood (3-9, 7-13) in a district play-in contest at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at Meadowdale High School. The Mavericks defeated the Royals 56-42 in mid-January.
