Editor, The Beacon:

I have a question for Betty Lou Gaeng, who wrote regarding a recent article about an old roadhouse on Hwy 99 [“Drinks and dancing? Not here,” The Beacon, Letters to the Editor, page 4, June 5].

Mrs. Gaeng grew up on the corner of 212th Street and Hwy. 99 during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

My question is: Was it called 212th Street in those days, or did it have a different name? If so, what was it called then?

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

Nancy Dybing
