Learn to manage chronic pain

There are more than 300,000 adults in Snohomish County who are living with chronic pain--one of the most common chronic conditions in the United States.

Senior Services of Snohomish County is offering their newest self-management resource The Living Well with Chronic Pain workshop  at the Center for Healthy Living, 4100 Alderwood Mall Boulevard, Lynnwood, beginning June 4.

This six-week series meets 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, June 4 - July 9 and teaches skills that help people manage chronic pain and live their best life.

Workshop topics include:

• Managing fatigue

• Sleeping better

• Dealing with depression and other difficult emotions

• Managing medications

• Communication

• Working with your health care providers

• Goal setting and problem-solving

Workshop participants report that they feel healthier, they lead more active lives, have less depression and a better health-related quality of life.

There is no charge for the workshop and the course handbook.

Family members, friends and caregivers are encouraged to enroll.
