King's boys soccer third at 1A state tournament

The King's boys soccer team beat Chelan on Saturday morning in Sumner to finish third overall in the 1A state soccer tournament.

The team beat the Goats 3-0 on Saturday morning at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner, earning the third place trophy.

The Knights scored the first goal of the match with 14 minutes left to play in the first half off a strong kick by senior Taylor Moe which sailed past Chelan goalie Miguel Sanchez.

King's led 1-0 at halftime.

The Knight's quickly added a second goal in the second half of the match when junior Ran Fransen punched in a goal to lift King's to a 2-0 lead after six minutes of play in the second half.

Chelan had several chances to score in the second half, one which bounced off the cross-bar and King's frantically cleared.

King's senior Alex Muri scored the final goal of the game with nine minutes left to play to make it a 3-0 game.

King's finished the season with an 18-5-1 record.
