King’s senior Brennon Blevins was named of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s Athletes of the Week for Sept. 3-9.

Blevins rushed for two touchdowns, caught two touchdowns, and had more than 300 all-purpose yards against Lakeside, as he started the game at wide receiver and finished as the quarterback. Blevins also returned kicks, threw a fake punt for 25 yards, and started on defense, where he had six tackles and three pass deflections. He ended the night with 67 yards rushing, 169 yards receiving, and 70 yards passing.

Each week throughout the school year, the WIAA recognizes varsity athletes who exhibited an outstanding performance for the previous week (based off of nominations). All varsity level students in good academic standing at their schools are eligible to receive the WIAA Athlete of the Week Award. Students may win the WIAA Athlete of the Week Award once during any given academic year.
