King’s wins District title, beating Meridian 3-0 | Girls prep soccer

The King’s girls soccer team beat Meridian 3-0 on Saturday, Nov. 2 to win the 1A District tournament title.

The Knights beat Friday Harbor and Lynden Christian earlier in the tournament to earn the Cascade Conference title.

Against Meridian, King’s Beth Stella scored twice in the second half, while teammate Jubilee Zevenbergen had the final goal of the game in the 69th minute. Stella, Zevenbergen and Anna Parker all had assists in the match.

With the District title win, King’s advances straight to the Tri-District tournament championship game on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. The Knights will face the winner of the Seattle Academy vs. Eatonville game and are guaranteed a spot in the 1A state tournament, which begins Nov. 11.
