King’s Giboney wins Gamble Sands boys golf tournament

May 05, 2017

King’s Grayson Giboney shot a 5-under-par 67 to win the Gamble Sands High School boys invitational golf tournament April 19 in Brewster.

The victory was the 100th victory of his career.

Giboney hit 12 out of 14 fairways and hit 17 greens in regulation. He made one early bogey but rebounded quickly making six birdies and the rest pars en route to the victory.

“Grayson played fantastic,” King’s coach Nelson Knight said. “He missed a short par putt on his third hole of the day, but went on to make six birdies.”

King’s placed fourth overall. Twenty-four high schools were present from all over the state with more than 120 golfers.
