Julaine Fleetwood joins Edmonds Senior Center board

Julaine Fleetwood has volunteered for numerous businesses and civic groups in Edmonds.

Julaine Fleetwood has joined the Edmonds Senior Center as a board member.

“We are delighted to have Julaine on the board,” Edmonds Senior Center Board President Bob Rinehart said.

“She is a resident of Edmonds for 20 years who is passionate about her community and appreciates meaningful opportunities to give back through volunteering.”

Fleetwood has volunteered in community organizations such as the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, the Phoenix Theatre, Creative Age Festival of Edmonds, Edmonds School District W.O.W. Program and the Edmonds Economic Development Commission.

“Julaine brings a broad spectrum of professional qualifications to the board that includes expertise in strategic planning, marketing and communications strategies in branding, website and event planning development, as well as community outreach and public relations.”

Fleetwood has her bachelor’s in education from the University of Montana and is a master’s degree candidate in adult and community education at Alaska Pacific University.

Edmonds Senior Center is located south of the ferry on the Edmonds waterfront at 220 Railroad Ave.

It is the center for connecting and enriching senior communities in the north King and Snohomish counties.

Established in 1968 as a nonprofit organization, Edmonds Senior Center serves over 4,000 citizens annually with a wide variety of programming including recreational trips, educational classes, health and fitness, music, visiting lecturers, arts, languages and history and even assistance for tax preparation from AARP.

The office is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
