John Harry Pruatt: 1936 – 2018

Jan 24, 2018

John Harry Pruatt passed away on Jan. 4, 2018, at home, in Edmonds. He is survived by his wife,
Janet Pruatt; daughter, Aubrey (husband, Dave) Morck and one granddaughter, Porter (age 9).

John cherished his family and friends, made it his ambition to lead a quiet life, to work with his hands, heart and head, just as his father and mother did, so his daily life won the respect of others, and so that he was not dependent upon anyone.

John found special joy in his young granddaughter, Porter. Among his pursuits throughout his life were sailing, cooking, feeding treats to neighborhood dogs, and reading the “Leatherstocking Tales” on his Kindle. He loved gadgets and always browsed the local kitchen or tool store for the latest invention.

John’s passion, and the best thing he said he had ever done in his later years, was becoming a Monday Docent at the Museum of Flight (MOF) where he loved leading tours of people from around the world through the exhibits about WWI, WWII, war planes, engines, pilots and sharing stories of people who dedicated their lives to these endeavors.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at North Sound Church (Little White Church), 404 Bell St., Edmonds, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way South, Seattle, WA 98108.
