Nancy Leson, left, and Jill Scott were among those in Edmonds who joined a nationwide protest Nov. 8 in support of protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The protest, on the corner of Edmonds Way and 100th Avenue West in Edmonds, came in response to President Trump installing longtime ally Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general – after firing Attorney General Jeff Sessions – and taking over oversight of the Mueller investigation from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

The activists were demanding that Whitaker recuse himself, given his conflicts of interest and previous statements attacking the investigation.
