‘If it ain’t broke…’

Apr 03, 2014

Why does Phil Williams want to put a sidewalk on the west side of Sunset Avenue?  We already have full access to the western view from Brackets Landing to Marina Park for everyone to use.

Granted, it doesn’t allow for biking, but isn’t that OK?  They have bike lanes and sharrows all over the place.  How many does he see riding on Sunset Avenue?

We should be glad that BNSF allows access on their property at all.  Does anyone need one more fence to possibly prevent a suicide?

And to think that a town that has few parking places would want to take out more.

The well-worn path is a pleasure to see and use unlike the other projects that have gone on in this burg that have the look of sterilization.

The funny popouts of concrete on 5th Avenue, the widening of Main between 5th and 6th, not only did they narrow the street and lose a couple of parking spaces, someone had the not-so-bright idea to paint the backs of the stop signs black so they would blend into the area.  Blend into what? I ask.

Please stop wasting our money. If you want to improve the sidewalk on the east side, please do so.  It will be then accessible to strollers and wheelchairs, and it has a perfectly good view!

Please do not make this another unnecessary Five Corners Project.  Isn’t there an old saying, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ Thank you.
