Glen David Ackerman: 1927-2017

Glen David Ackerman, 90, of Lynnwood passed away Friday, Oct. 27, at Chateau Pacific.

Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Bellingham, Glen was one of six children born to Wilfred and Rhoda Ackerman. As an adult, Glen joined the U.S. Army and then joined the U.S. Army Airforces.

After being honorably discharged from the service, he completed barber courses and opened Glen’s Barber Shop in Edmonds.

Glen cut hair for over 39 years, first on Main Street and then in Old Mill Town before retiring. He continued to work as a volunteer at the Edmonds Senior Center and at the food bank for many years after his retirement.

Glen is survived by his older sister, Crystal Johanson, his daughter and son in-law Joyce and Robert Pilgrim, his grandsons Robert and Bay (Glen) Harris, great-grandson Jesse Harris, many nieces, nephews and a host of very much loved family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds.
