Future planners of Edmonds | Letter

Jul 31, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

Years ago high school students and one man helped design the Harbor in bountiful Edmonds. His name was Gerry Walroth. He asked students to design and make models to display their ideas of a harbor in Edmonds.

The models were displayed at a bank in Edmonds.

But, today we have Five Corners as an example of modern design.

Today the latest talk and concern is rail and train travel along the harbor area.

Some cities have been early planners, others (Edmonds) is a late planner, wondering about underground or overhead for trains carrying passengers, freight, coal trains etc.

While the concern grows and time awaits a solution, maybe it’s time to introduce the students again.

They are the future planners.
