Flower baskets out, new sidewalk completed

A sure sign of spring and soon-to-be-summer are the numerous hanging baskets beautifying Edmonds streets downtown and at Five Corners.

The program is from the City of Edmonds

And notice something else in this photo?

It’s the sidewalk in front of the former post office, which is now completed after forcing walkers to cross the street for several months.

Back to the baskets: Adopted baskets include signage identifying who donated them. You can adopt a basket in your name or in memory or honor of someone else.

Those who participate in the program also get the first option to renew their basket next year.

To check on current baskets available, call 425-771-0230.

A map and brochure of the parks and baskets is available at flowerprogram.edmondswa.gov, in person at City Hall, or at the front desk of the Frances Anderson Center.
