Elmer Clifford Olson: 1922-2018

Sep 26, 2018

Elmer was born on January 22, 1922, in Seattle, Washington, to Nils and Hildi Olson, who had come to the Seattle area from northern Sweden. He joined sister Hildred.

He grew up in Seattle, living for a few years “across the sound” in Manchester, and went to high school at Lincoln High. During this time he met his wife, Katherine Marie Will- man, known as Pat.

Elmer enlisted in the U.S. Army and while stationed in Santa Barbara, California, he and Pat were married on June 3, 1944.

Elmer was sent overseas and served under General Paton’s 3rd Battalion while in the 491st armored battery. Elmer worked as a scale mechanic in Seattle for the White, Toledo and Phillips scale companies.

After retirement in the 1980s, Elmer spent his time “tixing things.” He could repair just about anything, and especially enjoyed working on his boat “Ingenting Tre.”

He also loved meeting and visiting with anyone he met. Elmer will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.
