Edmonds-Woodway wins third straight game | Girls prep basketball

The Edmonds-Woodway girls basketball team earned it’s third straight win of 2014 and it’s fifth in a row on Monday, Jan. 6 by beating Seattle Prep.

The Warriors won 73-57 in a non-conference game.

Edmonds-Woodway started the match with a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Seattle Prep outscored the Warriors 17-13 in the second to give Prep a 30-29 advantage at halftime.

Edmonds-Woodway retook the lead in the third quarter, scoring 25 points to Seattle Prep’s 10 and outscoring the Panthers 19-17 in the final eight minutes.

Natalie Kasper had a game high 25 points during the win, while teammate Sydney Peterson scored 13 points and Sidney Eck added 12. Mady Burdett scored 10 points, Moni Jackson posted eight, Maddy Nealy scored four and Lea Bakken added one point.

The Warriors, now 8-2 this season, will play at Arlington on Thursday, Jan. 9 in a 7:15 p.m. game.
