Edmonds-Woodway beats Meadowdale 6-1 | Girls prep tennis

The Edmonds-Woodway girls tennis team won its first match of the season on Tuesday, March 18, beating Meadowdale 6-1.

In singles competition, Warrior Myint-Zu Kyaw beat Tea Nikolic 6-0, 6-0, while Hanna Rehnfeldt beat Maverick Rebecca Huang 6-0, 6-0. Susan Su of Edmonds-Woodway beat Meadowdale’s Sunni Lee 6-1, 6-0 and Pavi Chance of Meadowdale beat Alisha Chand 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles, Edmonds-Woodway’s Naomi Kim and Casey Stepenski beat Bear Lund and Shannon Karnoski 6-0, 6-4. Maryalice Weed and Tammy Nguyen beat Meadowdale’s Simaran Rai and Sabrina England 6-3, 6-7 (3), while Warriors Claire Olson and Katherin Wilson beat Tiffany Daniggelis and Alyssa Valdez 6-2, 6-3.

The Warriors, now 1-0 this season, will play at Lynnwood on Thursday, March 20 at 3:30 p.m. Meadowdale, now 0-1 this season, will host Mariner on Friday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m.
