Edmonds woman assaulted, robbed

A 29-year-old female Edmonds resident was assaulted and had her purse stolen by an unknown male Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., the female was near her car when she was struck in the face by a male who then took her purse and fled on foot. The incident occurred in the 22900 block of 76th Ave W.  Edmonds Police officers arrived within two minutes of the victim calling and quickly requested assistance from a Lynnwood PD K9 unit and Mountlake Terrace Police units to conduct a K9 track and provide containment.

A male who was with the subject, who struck the female, was contacted at the scene by Edmonds Police Officers who had responded and was taken into custody.

The female victim, who suffered cuts to the inside of her mouth and injuries to her facial area, was treated at the scene by Fire District Aid/Medic units.

Officers continued to look for the second male suspect for an hour however were not able to locate him.  The first subject, a 39 year old Lynnwood resident, who was initially contacted and apprehended at the scene, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on a Robbery 1st charge.

The second suspect is described as a white male 30 years of age 5’8” to 6’ tall, thin build, unshaven beard wearing thick clear glasses, white undershirt, black pants and a white baseball hat with a red brim.
