Edmonds resident wins big Lottery prize

Dec 14, 2016

A spokeswoman from Washington’s Lottery confirms that a longtime Edmonds resident won the $50,000 top prize from a “Season’s Greeting” Scratch ticket.

The winner, who is not being identified, purchased the ticket the day before Thanksgiving at Safeway at Highway 99 and 238th Street SW in Edmonds.

The winner told Washington’s Lottery officials the prize money is going to be put to good use. First, the Washingtonian plans to schedule a trip to sunny Arizona to spend time with a few close friends and relax at a nice spa.

Then, the winner plans to purchase new household appliances.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide.
