Edmonds native Bryn Fraker recently designed and illustrated her first book, "Under The Sea," a coloring book that features 20 pages of coral reef illustrations and quotes about the beauty of the sea.

Fraker said that, along with low tide elementary school field trips, exposure to local marine biology made a big impact on her.

Fraker is a four-year recipient of the Edmonds Arts Commission College scholarship program. She graduated with honors from California College of Art in 2014. Her degree in stop-motion animation is augmented by a second degree in art history.

She is currently building her career in the animation industry in Los Angeles. After working on the Academy Award nominated animated movie "Anomalisa," Fraker continued on with Stoopid Buddies Stoodio working on original programming for television.

She has also done some commercial work, including with Honda, and even an intro to "The Simpsons." You can see her animation work at www.brynfraker.com.

A percentage of each coloring book sale will be donated to the Coral Reef Alliance, an organization dedicated to saving the world's endangered coral reefs.

Fraker will be in town for the Aug. 17 Art Walk Edmonds at ARTspot, which is owned by Tracy Felix, Fraker’s mother. The store is at 408 Main St., Edmonds.

The book has 20 illustrations to color. The price is $11.95. You can call ARTspot at 425-640-6408 to reserve a copy.

ARTspot also will be featuring Fraker's original paintings that inspired "Under the Sea"

Aug. 15-Sept. 15.
