Nearly 200 fourth- through sixth-graders at Edmonds Elementary School created self-portraits and models of their school mascot, the orca, for a mural partially funded by an Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation Art Education grant.

Local artists Mike O'Day and Julie Perrine produced and delivered a large clay mural incorporating the portraits for the school.

The mural will be installed on the outside of the school library, adding to Edmonds Elementary's collection of student installations throughout the campus.

The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation gives more than $60,000 annually for art scholarships, educational and community grants and more for public art installations and special projects.

All profit from the annual Edmonds Arts Festival goes toward funding of the Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs.

The Edmonds Arts Festival is June 15-17 at the Frances Anderson Center.
