Dwight C. Thompson: 1939-2018

Dwight passed away Feb. 20, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mathilda "Millie," and their two sons, Christopher (Julia) of Bothell and Paul (Celeste) of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Dwight is also survived by his sister Carol Ryan and brother Richard Thompson, and many nieces and nephews, all of California.

Dwight was born in Davison, Michigan, April 30, 1939, to Carl and Margaret Thompson. After graduating from high school Dwight enlisted in the Navy, followed by earning an AA degree in California.

While working in Chicago for IBM he met his future wife, Mathilda, marrying in November 1967. He worked for IBM Corporation, first in New Hampshire for seven years and then transferring to Washington, settling in Edmonds. He worked for IBM until retirement. He was also in the military reserves for 28 years and is retired from the Army.

A rosary and funeral mass was held Feb. 26 at Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonds. A graveside service is 1 p.m. March 1 at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.
