Do these glasses look good on me?

May 17, 2018

When choosing the eyewear that you may be wearing for at least a few years it is important that it is comfortable and makes you feel good.  Here are a few tips for choosing the right pair.

As far as shape selection goes, the opposite of the face shape is better.  For square faces, softer, rounder shapes look better.  If you have an oval face, you can tend to get away with most shapes.

Another important part to styling is to make sure the frame fits appropriately.  When fitting frames, the eyes should be as centered as possible from left to right. If the eyes are inset, generally the frame is too big; if the eyes are outset, generally the frame is too small.

The length of the temple/arm piece is also important.  It needs to be long enough that after adjustment it hooks at least halfway down the back of the ear, otherwise it will not grab well and the glasses will slide.

Another thing to take into account is if the lenses are progressive or bifocal, then you should choose a frame with enough depth to give you the best vision possible.

Hopefully these tips will help make your eyeglass selection easier.  If you need professional help, give us a call.  Sherman Optical is happy to help with all your individualized needs.
