Coastal Community Bank opens Edmonds branch

Oct 05, 2018

Coastal Community Bank has opened a branch in Edmonds at 123 Third Ave. S. The location, its 14th, will include five full-time branch staff, four commercial lenders, a merchant services representative and a shared mortgage lender.

A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony is 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.

The ribbon-cutting will begin with remarks from Coastal Vice Chair Chris Adams, followed by an open-house reception and remarks from Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling and Edmonds Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Greg Urban.

Refreshments will be provided, along with the chance to enter a grand-opening drawing.

“Our Edmonds team is enjoying the chance to perform their roles as bankers and community advocates while being closer to home,” said branch manager Jeff King.

"Having a full-service team with decades of financial experience will be an advantage to residents and businesses in the area. Not to mention, we wear our local badges with pride, and look forward making a positive difference in the community.”

Grand opening festivities are all next week, October 15-19, coinciding with the beginning of Edmonds’ sixth annual Scarecrow Festival.

“We have been planning our scarecrow entry nearly as long as we’ve been preparing the physical branch,” King said. “Edmonds is known for its appreciation of the arts and local heritage, so we want to pay homage to that in a fun way.”

As part of that, the branch’s First Coastal Pumpkin Quest is a glass pumpkin scavenger hunt where, during its grand opening, the bank will hide 35 4-inch plastic clue-balls around the area, including some scarecrow locations. The bank will post hints on its Facebook page, @coastalcommunitybank.

Those finding a clue ball can bring it to the branch in exchange for a hand-blown pumpkin made by local artist Dayne Lopez of Calcifer Glass.

In addition, those visiting the branch during the grand opening week may enter a drawing for prizes, including a pair of Seahawks field tickets.

Branch hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays. For more information, go to coastalbank.com or call 425-257-9000.

Coastal Community Bank was founded in Everett in 1997, and has offices in Snohomish, Island and north King counties.
