Cheryl Schaeffer-Van Citters, 60, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019. Cheryl was born in Seattle, WA, the second child of Ed and Lois Schaeffer, and lived in Edmonds all her life.

She graduated from Edmonds High School and attended Western Washington University. Cheryl always worked, spending more than thirty years with Nordstrom, mostly as a counter manager in cosmetics, where she was loved by her customers and coworkers.

Cheryl loved the sun and the beach, enjoying family vacations at Lake Chelan, the San Juan Islands, California and Hawaii. She had many good friends, and enjoyed many adventures with them, including biking across Montana and through Yellowstone National Park.

Cheryl loved animals, always having multiple pet dogs, but especially loved riding on and hanging out at the barn with her beloved horse, “Chance.” She was an understanding, proud and loving mother and wife, a loyal and trusting friend and so much more. Her loss leaves our hearts broken.

She is preceded in death by her mother Lois and sister Linda, and is survived by her husband, David Van Citters of Edmonds, WA; daughter Savanah of Edmonds, WA; father Ed of Edmonds, WA; sisters Laura Ellet of Port Townsend, WA, Karlene Knie of Edmonds, WA; brother Robert Schumacher of Monroe, WA.
