Candidate meet and greet is Sept.  8

Sep 06, 2019

The Edmonds Neighborhood Action Coalition (ENAC), in partnership with The Sierra Club and Indivisible Edmonds, is hosting a free local candidate meet and greet 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Edmonds Center of the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N.

The event is free and open to the public.

The public is invited to meet candidates running for city offices, school board and judicial offices. Light refreshments will be provided.

“We want our community to have an opportunity to mingle with the candidates, explore why they’re running, and what their platforms are,” said Anabel Hovig, one of the event coordinators.

This event is an opportunity for Edmonds residents to have a firsthand experience with local candidates. “People are encouraged to interact with and ask questions of candidates whose decisions, while in office, will affect their day-to-day lives,” Hovig said. “ENAC and Indivisible Edmonds hope to engage potential voters to help them make informed choices about the direction of city, county and state politics.”

This is the third post-primary candidate meet and greet hosted by ENAC. Event organizers are Hovig and Tana Axtell, Kelsey Foster, Denise Miller, and Kathleen Sears.

Edmonds Neighborhood Action Coalition (ENAC) is a progressive, inclusive community of committed volunteers with a mission of social justice, encouraging political engagement and advocating for equity.
